The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly worsened the challenges women face in participating in the economy and in public life on an equal basis with men. This worsening of gender disparities, which has been observed worldwide, has been particularly acute in India. The Impact of Covid-19 on Women – a policy brief released by the United Nations – observes that the pandemic will likely reverse many of the gains made in achieving gender equality in the past decades. This webinar explore the gender dimension of the economic impact of the pandemic and the policy interventions that can be pursued by state and non-state actors in responding to this challenge.
